Our mission is to sponsor and follow environmental proctection and conservation projects as well as to raise consciousness about the preservation of natural habitats, both in Germany and abroad.

Funds are allocated in a non-partisan fashion. All administrative activities conducted within the framework of the Hanseatische Natur- und Umweltinitiative e.V. (HNUI) are done so on an honorary basis which means there are virtually no administrative expenses.

The members of the organization are either individuals or corporate bodies. To broaden its expertise in environmental matters and to increase the efficiency of its activities, HNUI has contracted and recruited competent advisers from environmental and conservation organizations.
